LYELL is the smallest model in the FLOAT OUTDOOR series.
Based on a classic Wellington lens shape, it features a keyhole bridge that adds a timeless, vintage feel.
Originally designed with men in mind, we chose this size because we wanted women to enjoy it too.
LYELL is especially popular among women and those with smaller faces, offering a comfortable fit with a classic look.

The light green lens (VLT 30%) brightens your surroundings, making it ideal for activities in forested environments, such as stream fishing, canyoning, and trail running.

LYELL is named after the graceful and beautiful river that flows through the northern section of the John Muir Trail (JMT).

Design

“Ease of wear” exists not only in the structure, but also in the frame design itself.
Rather than bold or flashy designs, we prioritize a natural fit to the face—so even those who aren’t used to wearing sunglasses can wear them comfortably and with confidence.

Flexible temples

FLOAT’s unique "hingeless temples" were created by utilizing a special resin that combines flexibility with durability comparable to metal. They offer a remarkably lightweight fit—feeling almost as if they are floating in mid-air—that eliminates any sense of heaviness. The structure gently cradles the head, ensuring lasting comfort during extended wear while effectively preventing the glasses from slipping.

Polarized lenses for a clear view

Wearing high-performance (premium) polarized lenses allows you to see more clearly than with the naked eye.
They block unwanted reflected light, helping to reduce eye strain.
They also come standard with an anti-reflective (AR) coating to minimize light reflecting off the back of the lens.
